TGIF

It’s almost time!

I am soooo looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend…  I am going to hit up the Redbox on my way home tonight to see what they have for our viewing pleasure this weekend, I try to hit the one at the McD’s on the way home hoping the construction around there cuts down on the traffic and increases my chance of getting a good one!  I love the convenience of the Redbox but it is hard not to get 4 movies knowing you can’t watch them all in one night and they end up costing you way more than the 1 buck!  Let’s just say my boys and I have bought our share of Redbox movies because we misplace them and after 25 days, they are ours! LOL  If you can keep yourself from going crazy and picking more than you can watch it is a GREAT deal…  and not a bad price for one night of entertainment.

Tonight we are going to go to the Church for a little while to help set up for the rummage sale tomorrow.  If you are around town tomorrow, head over to the St. James School Gym, we will have lot’s of things to ‘rummage’ through… to see if you can find any good stuff, there will also be 50 cent Hot Dogs, a bake sale and a religious jewelry sale.  It’s a great opportunity to come out and support the Youth Ministry kids raising money for their upcoming trip to the Youth Conference in Steubenville.  We will be there from 9 am to 1 pm so stop by and visit us!

Noah has a game tomorrow, which unfortunately I am going to have to miss because I will be at the sale but I am sure he will win… I am hoping we get to sneak in a zoo visit or some other fun thing tomorrow, we have been wanting to take Noah to Morgan’s wonderland, it is a new fun place that opened up geared towards people with special needs but everyone can enjoy it, I have seen a lot of articles on it in the news and it is definitely on our list of things to do for the summer.  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, I know we are looking forward to it.

Smarts...

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information and
wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out
to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured,

educated and happy.

Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think,
Good grief, look how smart I am!

Must be where 'Smart Ass' came from!

Weekend Pics

Awwww, mira, que chula! this is my favorite BG Cathy, sitting and relaxing at the park, her son Darren made his First Communion and we had a gathering at the park after mass. It was an awesome day, my chicken salad was the bomb... and Cathy's momma made my favorite cake! (which contributed to my weight gain at weight watchers)

Look at this handsome man, TJ had his Senior Prom, isn't he absolutely gorgeous... what a hottie! I can't believe my chocolate rabbit is all grown up. Look out world, he's coming to get you!

AAAAhhhh sooooo! here is my baby showing off his latest Karate move in his new outfit, now if i can just get him to stop whining everytime it is time to go!

Fascinating

This is my son's newest fascination... Dum Dum lollipops, seriously... he lines them up, separates them, puts them in individual bags... here he is sitting watching Monster Jam with them... Don't worry, we don't let him get sugar overload on them, but if he loves them, what can you do?

Venting

Today when I picked up my son from school he had this sticker on, yes... it is St. James Night at Cici's pizza (feel free to come support our school), well anyhow... they totally get us through our kids because you know my son thinks we HAVE to go now...

And this was only the beginning..

.

He also had attached to his Wednesday packet a discount ticket to Fiesta Texas, of course I know it is a discount ticket... anyone who looks at it will note the admission is still $25 at the discounted rate... but all my son see's is a ticket... and he wants to know when we are going... lovely...

And don't let me forget that in the mail today we get a postcard coupon from Toys R Us that says $10 real big, and in small prints it adds "off of a $50 purchase"... nice.... All my son sees is $10 and Toys R Us...

oh to be a kid again, my son thinks he hit the lotto today...

Just keep swimming...

That is what I am hearing over and over in my head, you know… from Finding Nemo…

Just keep swimming swimming swimming…

One Coke Zero down and I still feel like I am moving in mud… and it’s only Wednesday! Good Grief.

Frazzled

That is exactly how I have felt all day long, I have been a little panicky and anxious... even woke up early and had trouble getting back to sleep but I feel much better now. I went to spend some time in adoration and it was just what I needed. I picked up Mom after work and brought her over to the house with me and we made supper. I think Johnny and I have both let go a lot and feel less obligated to do everything and realize more you have to say 'not today' sometimes. Which is what we did with Noah's baseball practice, it was more important for us to sit down and eat a nice dinner with Mom and totally worth it. Her and I went to adoration and Johnny and Noah got to go for a walk. It was a busy Monday today and I can't believe graduation is just around the corner, I know I am going to cry my eyes out when TJ crosses that stage, time surely flys much too quickly.

I would like to ask everyone to pray for people that suffer from dimentia and alzheimers, for their families and caregivers. Please pray for patience, understanding and peace.

ouch...

This is my sons toe, that he bandaged himself after he dropped his DS on it and said it was broken, we had an amazing healing and he was up and running around a few minutes later...

Warning...

If your number is in my phone you may get crazy pictures or nonsense text messages, I have not gone off the deep end, my son has figured out how to send pictures and texts from my phone. Crazy kid... this was one of his surprise shots...

Oh what a night....

It is pouring outside right now, has been most of the day .... GREAT stay home weather. We were home all day today, it was so nice I almost didn't know what to do with myself. I did have to go to the grocery store real quick (is there such a thing?) and of course Noah has to have one of those blasted carts with the sitting area for kids attached, ya, so I have to push a *!@? 18-wheeler around HEB AND on a Saturday, just to get a few things... Oh well, we survived. I even tried to get one of my naps in today but Noah wouldn't leave me alone and then a security system sales guy came knocking on the door... maybe it was the fact that we had all the windows wide open that made him stop... LOL

I have gotten a lot of little bits done around the house, I need to get to working on Mother's day gifts. Johnny is going to be gone Mother's day weekend on retreat... but that is okay, my little snuggle bunny will have to do until he gets back.

I almost forgot, I made a carrot cake today, it was AWESOME, a recipe my sister got from someone at work and even though it was from scratch it was very easy! Definitely a keeper.

I can hear the thunder outside the window and the rain falling, makes me want to dive under my covers and get cozy... Looking forward to a relaxing Sunday tomorrow.

Sweet boy

So my niece took baby Dominic in for his first hair cut, she had them buzz him. A little trim would have been fine... but doesnt he look cute!

Sweet dreams...love you

Believe

I do believe... I do I do I do...

Okay, so the show was a little different because it was for a field trip but Shamu is still a big fish...

The three amigos

So I took the Momonater with me on the field trip (doesn't she look overjoyed!) Seriously though, we had just come out of the Penguin building and peeeeee yew! THEY STUNK. Lord have mercy I mean those are some smelly birds... are they birds? Guess I should have payed attention! LOL

AWWWWWwww

Okay, remember the scene in Happy Feet when he woke up in the Penguin exhibit? So I totally felt clausterphobic for these birds... Let me out let me out!!!!

Breath marla breath... yuck, it stinks! hold your breath marla hold your breath...

It's feedin' time!

My baby got to feed the dolphins and the Sea Lions, here we are at the sea lions, and I'm kinda glad they are way down there because I have a feeling that when we gave them these tiny fish these big boys might have just slapped us...

ugh! nasty little snack huh? and Johnny wants me to try sushi... no way, i don't care if it is wrapped up all pretty..

Funny

Okay, bad picture with my fingers and everything but this one cracked me up...

WATCHA LOOKIN AT Little Guy!

Just a grinnin'

Here my baby is, getting ready for the day at Seaworld... I should have taken a picture at the end, um, they had construction going on so we basically had to go around the park a million different ways to get to the things we needed to see. We walked at least 30 miles, okay, maybe 5.

Tada!

Isn't she a cutie...

Lifeline...

I have to apologize for the random pictures I post with no explanation, I want to include them and send them directly to my blog but sometimes it takes a bit to get in to edit the post and explain the picture...

This... is Momo, yes, she is on the floor, she didn't actually fall, she kinda slid, you see she is actually on the phone with me and when she reached for the phone to answer it She slid on the floor and couldn't get enough rooster power to get up, so I called her sister in law from my cell phone and we were both laughing and I told her to hurry up and snap a photo and send it to me...

I've fallen and I can't get up....

Noah's Project and Looking out my Kitchen window

So my son HAS to have a bag of his all time favorite lollipops, dum dums at wal mart... so then he is soooo busy when we get home sorting and seperating, asks for three baggies and a marker, labels them Mon, Tue, Wed and he has his snack bags set for the week, this kid cracks me up!

Okay, I had FINALLY built up some beautiful plants in my window seal planter and they FINALLY got tall enough so that when I looked out the window I could see them... then...the last freeze snuck up on us and killed them, so we start again... pretty huh?

So much tado about To Do...

I subscribe to a lot of mass emails, LOL, and don’t always have time to read but SOMETIMES I am glad I open one and read …  even a little.  This is from a site I get newsletters for called ‘Get Organized Now’…  story of my life, right?!

Less is More:
Ways to Simplify Your Life

============================================

The society in which we live is all too often obsessed with how much we have. We spend a lot of time accumulating things and have a hard time giving things up. All the extras can add up and stress us out. Below is a list of 15 things that we can do with less of in order to help simplify our lives and free up our time.

1. Limit commitments

Many of us have a hard time saying no. Even when we're overworked and overbooked, many of us feel guilty telling people no. It's time to learn that it's okay to say no and not feel guilty. When you have too many commitments, you aren't able to fulfill them to the best of your ability and you add unnecessary stress to your life, not to mention all the time that those commitments eat up. Next time you're already committed and asked to take on more, gracefully apologize and say no--remembering that next time the need arises you may not be so busy.

2. Shorten To Do lists

Get rid of all the post-it notes and scraps of paper on which you've jotted down things to get done. Consolidate everything into 2 lists. One list should be your to do list for work and the other one for home. Each list should only contain the most important things in order to keep your lists short.

3. Control wasteful actions

Think about your typical day. How much of that time is spent doing things that don't really have a purpose? Things like watching hours of TV and pointless Internet surfing often draw us in and waste more of our time than expected. Gain back some of this time by making such activities more difficult to do or by avoiding them altogether.

4. Reduce clothing

Many Americans have closets and drawers full of clothes, much of which they haven't worn in months or even years. Look through your clothes. Take out anything that doesn't fit, is out of style, or hasn't been worn in over six months. Donate these items to a local charity, sell them at a garage sale, or give them to a friend who could use them.

5. Donate books

Books that aren't useful anymore and ones that you do not intend on reading again are just creating clutter. Go through your books and weed out all of your clutter books, including college textbooks, reference and self-help books you don't use any more, and books you'll never read again. Either sell these items at a garage sale or donate them to a friend or charity.

6. Consolidate email accounts

If you have multiple email accounts, consolidate them. Send out that mass email to let people know you're changing your email address. Keeping track of more than 2 email accounts is a great waste of time. Keep 1 personal account and 1 work account.

7. Focus on fewer goals

Having goals is a great thing, don't get me wrong. Everyone should have goals, but working toward too many at one time can be detrimental to your success. Focus on only 2 or 3 goals at a time and you will find it much less stressful and much more enjoyable as you achieve more success.

8. Curb credit cards

Credit card debt is a major problem for many Americans. One way to avoid this problem and stress is to limit credit card use by limiting the number available to you. Scale back to only 1 credit card and 1 backup. If this just won't do for you, try scaling back the number of cards you keep with you in your purse or wallet.

9. Reduce banking institutions

Let one bank supply all of your banking needs. Some banking institutions consolidate all of your accounts onto one statement each month, reducing the number of papers to sort through and file. It will also reduce the number of websites you have to login to each time you want to check balances and activity online.

10. Reduce bills to mail

There are many recurring payments that we make each month, from cable bills to car and mortgage payments and even utilities. Sign up with the companies or your financial institution to have these charges automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account. Other than saving you time and the hassle of mailing in your payments, it also saves you any late fees you may otherwise incur in the process.

11. Eliminate car clutter

Get rid of the trash and anything else that doesn't belong in your vehicle. Keep a small bag in your vehicle for any garbage that may accumulate while you're driving. Make sure everything that belongs in your car has a place. Most commuters find that they do some of their best thinking while they're on the road. It's rather hard to think and keep your mind clear when the space around you is a mess. It's also not a very good environment in which to decompress after a long day at work.

12. Control communication

Email, IM, cell phones, paper mail, Skype, Twitter, Facebook, and forums can all rob us of our precious time if we're not careful. Allow yourself a reasonable amount of time to communicate with friends and family, but don't let it overwhelm your day. Schedule certain times during the day for such communication, but only allow a certain number of minutes and stick to your schedule.

13. Plan dinner choices

Create a weekly dinner menu. It can be something as simple as 10-day rotation of chicken dish, pasta dish, veggie dish, etc. Need more variety? Combine your favorite recipes into one binder and make weekly dinners from that one recipe book.

14. Quit multi-tasking

Stop multi-tasking! Generally people are less productive when they multi-task. It adds more stress and makes things more complicated. Stick with a single task until you can cross it off your to do list and then move on to the next thing.

15. End gossip

Gossip creates drama whether it's at work or in your personal life. Eliminate the majority of this drama by not repeating any of the gossip you hear. It'll make you a more enjoyable person to be around and a better friend.

Las Quince

So this is not a very good picture, but these are the invites I did for Jade's Quincenera... they came out super cute....and I loved the colors, teal and chocolate... I am getting pretty good at this, I am WAY excited about my next project because they are for Johnny's cousin Missy's daughters Quince (whew) and i know she will let me do just about anything AND it is pink and Zebra... love it!

and us at the Quince, super tired already... we even left BEFORE they cut the cake, and you know me and Noah are all about the cake!

Me and my honey...love him!

ouchie

So I haven't been sleeping well lately, my sciatica has been really bothering me... I have been stretching like crazy but the fact of the matter is sitting at my desk all day does not help... I have a horrible headache today and I have already taken advil and it hasn't helped... :( So we are sticking around the house today and I am picking up here and there making some progress on my house that looks like a tornado hit it... UGH.... I am on my fourth load of laundry and I still can't walk into my bedroom....

On the bright side, it is really nice to just be home with my boys, I am sneaking in a little computer time while Johnny takes a break from his notes. I have decided today that I am going to start my family tradition again, DESPITE not feeling to chipper today... Every Sunday when I was growing up my mom had sunday dinner at her house. whoever came ... great but it was so nice to know you could count on a Sunday meal at Grandma's. My house is kinda the base for my family, mine and Johnnys AND our blended family includes our friends. It has been hard sometimes but I think they all do well together now, and I want my home to feel warm and welcoming always... AND thanks to technology I can send out a text to let them know ... come if you like.

My husband gets the first request, he wants Arroz con Pollo BUT with potatoes and carrots. I will make tea, and will see who joins us...because we always have room at our table. So feel free to stop by for some food... about 4ish....

Have a blessed Sunday...

...crazy daze

So today Johnny had to go to his team retreat so I had to get Noah to his game, um... so, of course the clock sped by and we were, once again, running late... AND it was my day to take snack! It is kicking my tail keeping up with all the pieces to Noah's uniform, today, we were beltless, and I actually remember taking the belt off the pants last week and putting it somewhere (location still unknown) so I wouldn't be scrambling around looking for it. Last week it was the hat, so Noah used his coaches - who told me today that Noah still had his cap and why was he wearing his Gravedigger Monster Jam one, (duh, because it matches... hello). I could have sworn we gave the hat back to him last week because I didn't want to worry about losing it... great, so I have to check with Lu when he gets h0me to see if he remebers giving it back because if not we have to buy another hat. Ya, so I did order him a new hat but I have not had time to go by Vivroux in New Braunfels to get it and then I still have to take it to Paramount to have his name put on it. NOW does my husband understand why i didn't want to let Noah wear his hat to Church two Sundays ago, 1, because I knew he would have to take it off and 2, because I was going to be busy and if mama don't keep up with it, it gets lost... need I say more? So we get to the ballpark and Noah says "Mom, my bat bag is at home" WHAT!!!! yes, that's right, my husband that doesnt understand why I have all this stuff in the car had taken a bunch of stuff off of the car so we could take Momo to eat and yes, the bag was in my car... because mama knows that is not trash in her car, it is items I need and leave there for a reason! So I bust a chicano u-turn (that one's for vinnie) and rush home, i realize we are later now and Noah says "just kidding mom, it's back here" Pissed does not begin to describe what was happening to me... so he said it was in the very back but couldnt pull it because my bag was on top, I couldnt even look at him because I was afraid i might put my car and park and go back there... we go back to the park and are almost to the field when, hello... we forgot to open the back and get that *!?* bag... so here we go back to the car, I open the hatchback and yell at noah to run ahead and grab it... and then, I see it... my bag... my everyday bag with EVERYTHING in it that I haul around back and forth, overflowing as usual and sitting on top of his ball bag... and I knew, just like you know now that my son was going to make it fall out and everything was going to go all over the parking lot... he did, it did... and we were totally late for his game, i get everything thrown back in the car and we get to the field and I yell at Noah to go to the dugout and I see, his team batting and realize i sent Noah into the WRONG dugout... so i am yelling at him to come back when I see my son running across the field towards the right dugout in the middle of the inning, so they have to stop the play to get him off the field, nothing like announcing "The Sauceda Family has arrived" in true Sauceda form...

911.... what is your emergency

yes, we just got home and our front door is wide open...

AND... no way no day am I going in there!

All is safe, and it was probably us that left the door open but it feels much better to get it checked out. The worst part, I really was waiting for them to come outside and tell us that the house had been ransacked. Um... NO, I just havent had time to clean or do laundrey....

THANKS

Gotta give a high five to Seguin's finest for getting here in record time, thanks for all you do!

Enough

For some reason today I have been very emotional, Maybe it was from watching TJ at Mr. Matador last night, maybe it was my heart wanting to break because he didn’t win (in my book he did!) and I knew how much he wanted it so my heart ached for him… maybe it was because I realized, no matter how old they get, they are ALWAYS our babies… On my drive in to work this morning this song made me think of my brother Ernie, ‘Save a place for me’… and I thought of all the times I drove up to Mom’s to pick up Noah, drop something off or read something they got in the mail… seeing him on the porch with his cats… in a hurry to get to the next place I needed to be, him running up to the car to see Noah, even if only for a moment… and oh how my heart hurt again, wishing I could go back in time to get down and sit on that porch with him and let him enjoy watching Noah play. I can say it over and over but never enough, yes enough… life is so short… we need to slow down because we are not guaranteed tomorrow… and when we look back… it is those “if only’s” that we play over and over again in my head…

Big thanks to Steph for sending this to me… AND wishing everyone ENOUGH

ENOUGH:
Recently, I overheard a mother and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure. Standing near the security gate, they hugged, and the mother said, 'I love you, and I pray you enough.'

The daughter replied, 'Mom, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I pray you enough, too, Mom.'

They kissed, and the daughter left. The mother walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there, I could see she wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on her privacy, but she welcomed me in by asking, 'Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?'

Yes, I have,' I replied. 'Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?'

'Well...I'm not as young as I once was, she lives so far away & has her own busy life. I have some challenges ahead, and the reality is - her next trip back will be for my funeral,' she said.

'When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, 'I pray you enough.' May I ask what that means?'

She began to smile. 'That's a prayer that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.' She paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and she smiled even more. 'When we said, 'I pray you enough,' we wanted the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.'

Then, turning toward me, she shared the following as if she were reciting it from memory.

I pray you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.

I pray you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.

I pray you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I pray you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I pray you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I pray you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I pray you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye..

Then, she began to cry, and walked away.

They say, it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them..

TAKE TIME TO LIVE......

To all my friends and loved ones,
I PRAY YOU ENOUGH...

Little bit of a lot

Well last night TJ had his Mr. Matador competition, he was AWESOME! I am so proud of him, it really is unbelievable that he is already graduating, I am going to be crying rivers end of may. It’s so exciting and scary at the same time, a whole new chapter in his life is opening up… Jessica actually has only 2 years, less than that left … at UT… time passes too quickly, so we really do need to live every minute! AND Mr. Noah will officially begin Kindergarten in August… sniff sniff, my baby! I actually already ordered part of his uniforms for next year, I ordered 4 pair of blue shorts and 2 warm-up pants, I just need to get his regular pants and his church shirt… He is growing way too fast, and it makes me so so sad because he is a big boy now!

I am really going to concentrate on getting my house…everything in order (stop rolling your eyes). Seriously, we are doing some ‘moving’ around… it is going to be a biiiiiggggg project (ugh)…. We are moving our bedroom into Noahs room (hummm, wonder if I can get my husband to repaint it first), We are moving Noahs room into what is the office now, and we are moving the office into our old bedroom. I know it sounds crazy but this way Noah’s room will be right next to ours and our French doors in our bedroom go out onto the patio and this is where I really don’t like people having to walk through our bedroom – so they see my mountain of clothes to be put away, we do have a door that goes out the side of the house from the den but, ya… not the same thing. It will work out better because we can make a more functional office, reading/prayer area and an area for me to work on my projects (since I have all this free time!). I am excited, and tired already just thinking about it.

Today is the birthday of the world’s oldest living rooster! Yes, Momo is the big 57 today! Happy birthday ya big rooster… hope you have many more! Cockadoodledoo!!!!!

I would like to ask for prayers today, for my family…. We are thinking about doing a little shake up (NO, I am not pregnant) and I am asking for God to guide our family, I am going to have to leave you in suspense until one more detail works itself out, and when it does, God is surely giving us a clear message, until then … pray pray pray pray!

Holy Mary

Blessed Mother in the grotto

The wind was gently blowing and it was so nice to sit out in the grotto, you could hear the water flowing... sometimes it is good to just slow down and breath....
