Noah, always be kind to people, it is still the right thing to do to offer help to those who need it, don't ever stand there thinking 'well no one else is doing it why should I', you are not everyone else... be exceptional... be courteous, be thoughtful... always....

Country Drive

We took a nice country drive on Sunday, went out to Fentress to find a place to camp, can't go to far with the cost of things now! and we ended up in Luling, so many of their cute little plant stands are closing so it looks like the town is getting some renovations, but we did stop at one and these little plants were looking for a home...

Looky here at my baby up for bat at his first game.... Go Sand Gnats! This was a looong day, we had to be at the fields by 730 for pictures, then our game at 9.... but the kids were so cute and they had a blast and THAT is what matters! And who is that handsome man coaching, my honey! So proud of him....

Challenging

This is my built in that is in my living room, it kinda makes me feel like my life sometimes, so full of stuff but not always sure where it goes... LOL It makes me have anxiety just looking at it... My husband decided to move the big TV to our Den and move the smaller TV into the living room since it fit in there, and probably should be there anyway, but now when I do get a chance to watch TV... I see all this clutter... and I feel overwhelmed... SIGH!

Not Well Wednesday

The last week or a little more actually I haven't been feeling well, I was feeling bad enough to actually go to the doctor... yuck... and last night I was feeling so bad my husband put me in timeout and TOLD me to stay home today, because I didn't want to... but I am feeling better overall, and sometimes we just need to take that down time and I'm glad I listened to him (not that I had a choice). I have really been neglecting myself and letting him neglect himself so we both need to get ourselves back on track and put in some 'me' time. I am really looking forward to summer, Noah and I are going to have fun and I know it is going to fly by but that's what happens when your having a good time. I got to take a peek at Noah's graduation pictures, I'll post one soon, I just can't believe he is already almost done with his kindergarten year...
Moments pass quickly, so cherish each and every one of them.

Here is my honey with just a few of his cousins that came out to have a few brewskies with him at the Oak for his Bday...aren't they a good looking bunch!

Here is Noah with his Grandma, his cousins Daniel and Isaac.... Ms. Isabel would not take a picture that little stinker!  This our first monthly playdate since JJ passed away, I am so grateful for all the memories we had with him... And I am even more grateful my baby remembers him and has those memories too....

Happy Birthday

This is my Godson Justin on the right, I can't believe his is already in college... I kinda enjoy picking on him and making his life miserable... just kidding, he is totally blessed to have such an awesome Godmomma and he knows it... I have called him Shamika Shakwonda Jackson since he was a baby... I baptised this boy, took him to first communion and confirmation... Pretty sure I have partial ownership rights! LOL and that sexy blond next to him is my other love, his friend Apoo (okay that is the name I gave him) love him too, love the hair, the eyebrows... love it... (and he said yes, blondes do have more fun)

This is my best friend since 6th grade Patty (Funkweda) and my Goddaughter Jordan (Chunkweda)... yup, both her kids are my God kids... and everyone has their special names...

Spring break day 1 - playing at the park!

Spring Break 2011

woohoo! It's the first day of springbreak 2011 and even though my baby is just happy about 9 days off, I am trying to make sure we have something fun planned for each day. It's now as a parent that I see how important it is to make things count for kids even when they have no clue that you think of things like this... Right now he is happy and laughing because I have him and his buddy Kyle all weekend... so anything I do is going to be fun for him... Right now I gotta clean up as much as i can so I can pick up my mom and take her to the beauty shop, they'll love that... But I'm packing a picnic to take them to the playscape this afternoon...

Today, pray for the moment, enjoy the sounds of children laughing, the wind rustling through the trees, a beautiful day... there is always a bright spot somewhere. Pray for the people in Japan, we woke up safe in our beds this morning and they went to bed last night hoping to wake up and find that the devastation they are experiencing is just a bad dream.

Lenten Season

When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, who love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on street corners so that others may see them. Amen I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will repay you... Matthew 6: 5-6

I have been feeling way overwhelmed lately... been busy, it's always busy though... With Ash Wednesday come and gone, we are right this very moment in our Lenten season... Everyone keeps talking about what they are giving up, and I have been mulling it over myself... But in the far corner of my heart, I think I have decided that rather than giving up, I am going to be giving in...

Giving in to the love of my Father, who asks me to trust in Him and tells me that through Him all things are possible.

Giving in to his wish that I know that this life is only temporary, and what I should be striving for is eternal life.

Giving in to his call, to love as he loves, to give as he gives and serve when he calls... To remember that my debts have already been paid in full...

Giving up all the worry that I hold in my heart and all the fear that I let have a hold of me and leave those in is hands where they belong.

Giving up on trying to make everything go my way and learning to trust in his way...

Giving away my need for approval when the only one who's approval I need has never asked anymore than to love and be loved...

Giving back the anger and betrayel I feel when others have done wrong to me or dislike me for no reason... The only thing I have is this moment and time nor effort should be spent worrying about such things...

Giving more of myself to the people who matter most... especially spending more time in prayer and talking to my Lord....

This is the day the Lord has made, let us Rejoice and be Glad in it... Because this moment is all we are guaranteed...

How can you not smile...

Okay, so we took a bunch of kiddos from school to see Gnomeo and Juliet... and we fell in love with the Gnomes, of course my husband was like "really"... yes really! How can you not be happy looking at these little guys, i need to get working on my plants and put these safely in a pot before they get trampled....

Men's ACTS Retreat 2011...

My hubby is off to the Men's retreat this weekend so we are anxiously awaiting Sunday. I love the Men's welcome home mass and we sure love seeing our guy after a long weekend apart. I was sniff sniffing all day on Thursday....

Super excited because my boys were lucky enough to get some Spurs tickets and they got to go and enjoy a game... They had a blast and I love seeing them happy...

My baby had a field trip to Gattiland, he had a great time and although I was a little skeptical, it was really a cool field trip, they have an actual teacher who works for them and does a class on fractions... It was a little hard for the younger ones but overall it was a great day!
