The in's and out's of everyday living...

Let me speak for a moment from my heart...

First, this past weekend Johnny and I attended a marriage retreat called Beyond Cana, It was something I really wanted to go to but never pushed it because Johnny feels that marriage retreats are for couples having problems and in his words "I think we are doing fine, but if you think we need to go, we can go, but I don't like that stuff" ....  ya, so I couldn't get him to see that it was about enriching our marriage, not fixing it...  his answer to that "if I do something wrong, just tell me and I'll stop"  good grief...

So then Father Dennis asked us to go...  he really wanted to bring something to build up marriages to our parish...  I told him Johnny's feelings and he said... no worries, It's okay...  Then lo and behold my husband tells me he'll go!  I was so excited because some of our friends were going, it was going to be a wonderful weekend...  and it was, after the first day...

...because we alllllll know how the devil likes to kick up dirt when he see's something good about to happen and we had a heck of a time getting there, in fact, I didn't actually talk to my husband until after lunch the first day because between leaving our monkey for the first time, my sister NOT making it to Noah's cowboy day and me being helpless to console him or check on him and my husbands first words out of his mouth at retreat were... "I'm only here for you"  I was ready to pack my bag and come home...

I'm not saying the whole weekend was butterflies and sunshine, because it was wet and dreary, but good thing that no matter what, I want to see the best in everything...  we both had different things we liked and disliked about the weekend, but one thing we agreed on was that it was nice to have some us time and leave things behind, okay...some things...

Marriage is not easy, but I am pretty lucky to have a really great guy but most of all, we are blessed to have God at the center of our marriage...  A great God and a faith filled husband, I am seriously blessed beyond words....

The Great and Powerful OZ

So very happy, TJ had his bloodwork done this past Monday and his numbers were off the chart, so no isolation for this guy!  I was a little stressed because he would not wear his mask, just like he would not shave his hair....  but this guy said he's hanging onto his curls until the chemo takes them...  Living and loving every single moment..,

Cancer can kiss our butts!!!  (and a few other choice words!)

OZ was great, and TJ is a pro on his crutches.  he got his brace today, and we are facing a whole new ballgame, because he absolutely hates it.  But he was the same about his crutches and I know once he adjusts, he is going to do just fine, he's a tough guy...

Scary Stories...

...  with flashlights, hot chocolate and popcorn...   scary!

Camping time

With Noah's bum foot, we had to get creative this year, so his daddy and him did back yard camping with his Uncle Vinny and Kyle...  and momma enjoyed the bed all to herself snug as a bug in a rug!

Love this

I just love the way they look on this, I think Aunt Marla is gonna keep it....

Silly Girls

Why do they always do this pose?  They crack me up...

Hitting the lanes

My Godson Justin and Jordan in the back, my other niece by choice, their step-sister Tate and my little guy Noah and Kyle...

They had fun, and the memories are great...  love these kiddos

Yes, it's Noah

Momma Knows Best....

On Sunday we stopped at the store when we were getting ready to go to baseball practice and I told my little guy, don't run in the store, your cleats will make you fall...  I guess you can see, he didn't listen.  We were at the Med Clinic late last night, I was hoping it was just a sprain but he kept complaining and I took him in, small fracture on his foot...  Now we have to see an Ortho Doctor...  another appt. to keep Momma busy...

It's almostm time for Noah to make his First Communion, I am so pleased with his religious education class this year, they have really made it special for the kiddos and I am pretty sure I enjoyed the retreats as much as Noah did.

Today, the battle begins...
Just got an update from my sister, he's done for the day and is not a happy camper, we didn't expect him to be.  Day 2 tomorrow, please keep T.J. in prayer, I've attached the prayer to Saint Peregrine, patron saint of cancer, please pray it for him.

Ewings Sarcoma....

... First chemo on Monday, had his port put in yesterday and he is doing good, I wish I could slow the clock down a little, I don't know if I can handle how sick this chemo is going to make T.J.

Praying hard for T.J. and Linda, who is very sick right now, pray pray and pray some more!

I found T.J. some of the food he had asked for, we are trying hard to find him whatever he wants to eat because he is going to drop weight very quickly and this whole vegetarian thing is not sitting well with his Grandma's, Mom and Aunts...   but we are TRYING to keep him happy, and we are happy that we have gotten him to at least eat some chicken...

My baby has to be coaxed to eat and I need to stop eating, how ironic :)...

St. Peregrine, pray for us....
